How to Download Twitter (X) Videos
X has no save button for videos, but downloading one takes under a minute with a browser-based tool. Here's exactly how, on every device.
Why X doesn't let you save videos
X (formerly Twitter) only lets you bookmark posts, not save the underlying media. The video file itself is served in MP4 renditions from X's CDN, though — which means a downloader tool can fetch the original file for any public post.
Everything below works for both twitter.com and x.com links, and for GIFs too (Twitter GIFs are actually looping MP4 videos).
Downloading on iPhone and Android
The steps are the same in the X app on both platforms: tap the share icon under the post, choose Copy link, then open the downloader in your browser, paste, and save. On iPhone, downloads land in the Files app; on Android, in your Downloads folder.

On the post with the video, tap or click the share icon and choose "Copy link". On desktop you can also copy the address bar URL.

Can I download a video from a quote tweet?
Paste the link to the post that actually contains the video. If the video lives in the quoted post, open that post first and copy its link.
Do I need to log in to X?
No. The downloader fetches public posts anonymously — your account is never involved.
Why does my link fail?
Check that the post is public and the link points to a single post (it should contain /status/). Videos from protected accounts can't be fetched.
