How to Download TikTok Videos on iPhone Without a Watermark

TikTok's Save video button adds a moving watermark. This guide shows the Safari method for saving a clean public TikTok video to your iPhone.

The short version

Copy the TikTok link, open this TikTok downloader in Safari, paste the link, and choose MP4. Safari usually puts the file in Files first. From there, tap Share and choose Save Video to move it into Photos.

This works for public videos and for the short vm.tiktok.com links copied from the TikTok app. It does not require a TikTok login or a separate iPhone app.

Step 1: Copy the TikTok link

Open TikTok and find the video you want to save. Tap the Share arrow, then tap Copy link. You do not need to copy the text from the caption. The link from the share menu is the one the downloader can read.

If TikTok gives you a vm.tiktok.com link, leave it as-is. The short link redirects to the video automatically when you paste it into the downloader.

Step 2: Download the video in Safari

Open Safari and go to the TikTok video downloader. Paste the link into the box and tap Download. When the available files appear, choose the MP4 option. Keep this page open until Safari starts the file download.

Safari is the most reliable place to do this on an iPhone. TikTok's in-app browser may open the result but fail to hand the file off to iOS properly.

Step 3: Move the video from Files to Photos

After the download finishes, open the Files app and look in Browse, then Downloads. Tap the video to make sure it plays. Tap the Share button, choose Save Video, and the clip will appear in your Photos library.

If you cannot find it, tap the download arrow next to Safari's address bar. That list shows the latest download and the folder where iOS saved it.

Why the watermark is gone

TikTok's in-app Save video option creates a copy with the TikTok logo and username overlaid on it. A link downloader retrieves the source file that TikTok serves for the public post, so there is no added watermark on the downloaded copy.

The source still cannot be better than the upload. If the creator uploaded a low-resolution video, downloading it in HD cannot create detail that was never there.

FAQ

Can I download a TikTok video without installing an app?

Yes. Use Safari, copy the public TikTok share link, and paste it into the downloader. The video downloads through Safari and can then be moved from Files to Photos.

Why did my TikTok video go to Files instead of Photos?

That is the normal Safari download flow on iPhone. Open Files, find the video in Downloads, tap Share, and choose Save Video. It will then appear in Photos.

Do I need to sign in to TikTok?

No. The downloader is intended for public TikTok links and does not need your TikTok account. Private posts and removed videos cannot be fetched.

Will this work with a vm.tiktok.com link?

Yes. Copy the short link from TikTok's Share menu and paste it without editing it. The downloader resolves the link to the public video.

Is downloading a video without a watermark allowed?

Use downloads for videos you own, have permission to use, or are allowed to save. If you share someone else's work, follow the creator's terms and give appropriate credit.
